Sinomach has actively assumed the responsibility of a central enterprise since the epidemic outbreak. On the second day of the Lunar Chinese New Year, it urgently organized to restore production to bolster supplies, including medical protective materials and testing equipment, and sped up investment and development of mask production equipment and protective clothing layering machines as part of its broader efforts to increase needed medical supplies.

Surgical mask’s daily production hits target ahead of time

Sinomach urged its subsidiary, CHTC Jiahua Nonwoven Co, to resume work and do its best to produce surgical masks. The company required the subsidiary to turn all its adjustable production lines into production lines of surgical masks and protective clothing materials, and expand the mask production lines, with output to reach one million pieces a day by Feb 15.

By Feb 13, CHTC Jiahua had produced 1,535.88 tons of non-woven raw materials and 4.045 million masks, and added 11 production lines for surgical masks, reaching the production capacity of 1.1 million surgical masks per day, two days ahead of schedule.

It is expected that by the end of February, CHTC Jiahua will open another five mask production lines, giving it a total of 16 production lines yielding 1.6 million pieces per day. It is also facilitating N95 mask production equipment procurement and an anti-virus protective clothing project, making great efforts to put both products into production as soon as possible.

Sinomach immediately took up the development of the mask automatic production line and arranged for its subsidiary, Sinomach Intelligence Technology Co (Sinomach-IT), to coordinate progress.

Sinomach-IT, in conjunction with the Guangzhou Robot Industry Alliance and companies under the jurisdiction of the Guangzhou Development District, set up a special working group for mask production, working together to accelerate the development and assembly of mask production equipment in 24-hour shifts.

In view of the lack of key components caused by the epidemic, Sinomach-IT focused on modular design to develop a production line with simple structure, short debugging time, stable functions and high automation level that would be convenient to transport and install. The first mask production line will be completed soon, with an expected yield of 70,000 to 90,000 pieces per day.

After the development, Sinomach-IT plans to expand production lines, enhance assembly capacity and increase supply in a bid to further alleviate the current shortage of masks.

New fluorescent filter successfully developed

Sinomach deployed its subsidiary, Shenyang Academy of Instrumentation Science (SAIS), to start development of a new fluorescent filter. It also provided capital support to ensure smooth progress.

In response, SAIS urgently produced fluorescent filter components for many customers needing nucleic acid testing instruments, and intensified the directional development of new filters for rapid testing instruments. It completed the structure design, the spectral index setting and the multilayer film system design by Feb 5, and successfully developed the first batch of new filter products on Feb 8, delivering them to customers for trial.
