Zhang Xiaolun, chairman of Sinomach, met with Vladimir Norov, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), at the company’s headquarters in Beijing on Jan 21.

Zhang briefed Norov on Sinomach’s business situation and development history, highlighting its extensive economic and trade cooperation with SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partners.

Zhang also expressed his gratitude to Norov for paying his first visit to Sinomach in 2020, hoping that with the SCO Secretariat’s support and guidance the two sides will further deepen cooperation in infrastructure construction, industrial park development and industrialization and agricultural construction. He added that he looks forward to working together in emerging areas such as environmental protection, health and smart city construction.　　

Norov said that the SCO has played a positive role in promoting its member states’ economic development and international economic and trade cooperation. He spoke highly of the great contributions made by Sinomach in China's opening up, and put forward several guiding and constructive suggestions for Sinomach on strengthening economic and trade cooperation with SCO member states, noting especially the cooperation between Sinomach and Uzbekistan in industry and agriculture.

During the meeting, the two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges, reached broad consensus on mutual recognition of standards among SCO member states, and made specific arrangements for promoting cooperative projects.
