Zhang Xiaolun, chairman of China National Machinery Industry Co (Sinomach), attended the Belt and Road Forum for Regional Cooperation and Development held at the Great Stone Industrial Park in Minsk, Belarus, on July 2.

At the forum, he introduced Sinomach’s achievements in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and thanked relevant government departments, banks, and enterprises from China and Belarus for their strong support in the construction and development of the Great Stone Industrial Park.

China and Belgium have worked together to turn the industrial park into a symbolic project for promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.

Zhang pointed out that the Great Stone Industrial Park should strengthen its development foundation, take full advantage of its strengths, and seek to gain an advantage over its competition.

The Belt and Road Forum for Regional Cooperation and Development is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, and co-organized by the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sinomach, and Great Stone Industrial Park Development Company. The forum aims to make greater use of the Great Stone Industrial Park’s advantageous position for carrying out the Belt and Road Initiative, make use of production factors from a number of parties, and promote the coordinated development of regional industries.

Around 800 officials, experts, and business personnel from more than 30 countries, including China, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Poland, and from a number of international and regional organizations, participated in the forum. Eleven Chinese and foreign companies were awarded an admittance certificate by the Management Committee of the Great Stone Industrial Park, bringing the total number of enterprises to be granted the certificate to 55.

Zhang Xiaolun attended the military parade for the Belarusian independence day on July 3, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the country’s liberation from German fascist occupation during World War II.

During his visit in Belarus, Zhang learned about the development and investment situation of the Great Stone Industrial Park, and conducted research on the park’s sand table exhibition, self-built standard plants, and demonstration enterprises.
