The 1st China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened on June 27 in Changsha, capital of Central China’s Hunan province. China National Machinery Industry Co (Sinomach) took part in the expo, showcasing the company’s work in helping to develop Africa and its friendship with the locals.

Zhang Xiaolun, chairman of Sinomach, and Bai Shaotong, deputy general manager of the group, attended the opening ceremony and a number of conferences promoting China-Africa cooperation in infrastructure and financing, as well as cooperation between Hunan and key State-owned enterprises (SOE).

　

The expo’s slogan was “win-win cooperation for closer China-Africa economic and trade partnership,” and it focused on the promotion of trade and investment, agricultural technology, energy and electric power, industrial parks, infrastructure, and financing.

Its five exhibition areas were themed around China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, African countries, projects, Chinese provinces and cities, and companies, respectively, and attracted 53 organizations from Africa and the United Nations.

As a Belt and Road pioneer, Sinomach has had a long partnership with Africa. The company has undertaken more than 600 projects throughout the continent involving things such as machinery, energy, and transportation.

Over the past few decades, Sinomach has built electric power stations, water infrastructure, roads, hospitals, conference centers, gymnasiums, and libraries throughout Africa, helping boost the development of local economies, societies, and cultures and earning a great reputation among local governments and people.
