U Phyo Min Thein, chief of the Yangon region in Burma, recently visited a local textile factory of Sumec Group Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach.

During the visit, he learned about manufacturing techniques and the daily lives of Chinese and Burmese workers. He expressed his approval for the performance of the employees as well as the working environment.

He said that the factory has not only brought huge economic benefits to the country, but also laid the foundation for the development of the local garment and textile industry, especially in terms of training workers, technological support, and business management.

Chinese investment in Burma has significantly boosted the country’s development and improved the living standards of the local people, he added.

He also said the Yangon government will spare no effort in creating a favorable business environment for investors.

The textile factory started operating on Oct 27, 2017. It has focused heavily on improving its management system and production efficiency.

The factory has also made strong efforts to remove cultural barriers between Chinese and Burmese workers and increase local workers’ loyalty to the company.
