The Padma Water Plant built by China CAMC Engineering Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach passed a 72-hour test in Bangladesh on Feb 3, marking the completion of the project.

With a total contract value of $290 million, CAMC has constructed a pump station, a 33-kilometer pipe line, and a water treatment plant with a daily processing capacity of 45 cubic meters.

The plant is expected to improve the water supply in the country’s capital, Dhaka and avoid geological hazards resulting from excessive exploitation of groundwater.
