Sinomach agrees 21 deals at import expo

The first China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai on Nov 5. Ren Hongbin, chairman of China National Machinery Industry Co (Sinomach) attended a signing ceremony on behalf of the firm, on Nov 6.

At the signing ceremony, six subsidiaries of Sinomach signed 21 import and procurement contracts with companies from 16 countries, with the agreed amount totaling $8.4 billion. The contracts cover areas including mechanical equipment, automobiles, information engineering, services, food and agricultural products, and finance, reflecting the diversity of Sinomach's businesses.

Ren pointed out that the group has completed over 1,300 overseas infrastructure projects, with a turnover of more than $100 billion, plus $150 billion for imports and exports. And it has more than 300 overseas service agencies in over 190 countries and regions around the world.

He also stressed that Sinomach will use this expo as an opportunity to expand and upgrade its import business, achieving mutually-beneficial results with more partners.

Wang Haibin, executive vice-president of Siemens (China), and Iryna Marchenko, chairman of the national food and grain group of Ukraine, both praised Sinomach's work and professionalism at the signing ceremony, expressing a willingness to strengthen their links with the firm.
