Release time:2018-10-15 Reading times: A+AA-

The second unit of Pakistan's Neelum Jhelum 4×243 MW Hydropower Project (NJ Project) had its taking-over certificate (TOC) signed by its new owner on Oct 2.

The NJ Project is one of Pakistan's most technically difficult hydropower plants with the largest installed capacity under construction and one of the most important infrastructure projects in Pakistan. The total installed capacity of the four units in the power station amounts to 963,000 kilowatts, with the total contract amount worth $1.56 billion.

The completed project is set to generate about 5.15 billion kWh of electricity per year, which is expected to resolve electricity supply problems for around 15 percent of Pakistan's population, and greatly alleviate its serious shortage of domestic electricity supply.
